How Does Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Warning Work in My GMC Sierra Truck?

Covert radar sensors are located on your GMC Sierra truck’s rear corners. They can detect moving objects and vehicles when they’re behind your side mirror or from the next lane over as you drive forward. The lane change alert and side blind zone warnings work in tandem with each other to alert you to cars that appear to be entering your blind zone soon.

When a vehicle is detected, an amber-colored alert pops up in your sideview mirror on the side that corresponds to the other vehicle’s location. If you ignore the alert or don’t see the warning and proceed to activate your turning signal, another warning symbol flashes to prompt you to stay in your lane.
